“Mad Hatter’s Tea Party”

This fundraising “Mad Hatter” event for Candlelighters, the charity for children and young people with cancer, was blessed with wonderful weather, perfectly behaved donkeys, and an array of mad hats that would put Ascot to shame...  well, maybe!

We are pleased to say that we were able to raise £258 for Candlelighters through the sale of tea & coffee, the cake stall, donkey stroking, and at the busking marquee.  The Elm Galley also donated 10% of their takings on the day.

We would like to thank everyone would helped in making this such a pleasant and memorable day.  In particular to Rita & Barry for bringing the donkeys Jessie & Bert, and for Jean who helped to look after them.

A special thanks must go to our mad postman, Keith, who judged the “best/silliest hat” competition for us...

we hope the ginger dye comes out of the mustache soon!

We are also grateful to Colette, Kate, John and Tim who provided the musical entertainment in the busking marquee.
